Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the design of protection and control, revenue metering, monitoring, power quality, and related power system engineering projects
- Support the design team in developing medium- and high-voltage metering, protection, and control systems
- Prepare drawings, schematics, and diagrams for electrical distribution, metering, and communications systems
- Support engineering calculations related to metering and protection system configurations
- Assist with the review and development of vendor equipment specifications
- Provide technical support to internal teams and, where appropriate, external stakeholders
- Support technical proposals and solutions engineering activities
- Develop an understanding of Ontario's electricity market, utility operations, and industry best practices
- Other duties as required
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, or a related discipline
- Registered in a recognized co-op program
- Foundational knowledge of power systems, electrical safety principles, grounding, and industry standards
- Experience or exposure to tools such as Microsoft Excel, AutoCAD, Mathcad, MATLAB, ETAP, or other engineering software is considered an asset
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, organized, and eager to learn
- Strong customer service mindset and ability to work effectively in a team environment
Term Details, Compensation & Work Location
- Term: September 2026 – December 2026 (4-month co-op term)
- Compensation: $23.00 - $26.00 per hour, based on year of study, relevant experience, and internal equity
- Schedule: 40-hour work week
- Location: Mississauga, ON
- Work Arrangement: 5 days per week in-office
