Key Responsibilities
- Install, test, and commission retail and wholesale metering systems
- Perform maintenance and troubleshooting on metering installations
- Ensure compliance with Measurement Canada and Alberta Electric System Operator (AESO) standards
- Manage projects with minimal supervision
- Maintain client communications and documentation
- Follow safe work procedures and Rodan’s operating practices
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Completed or working toward Journeyperson certification as Electrician, Power System Electrician or Metering Technician trained equal (Alberta-recognized)
- Must have experience in rural remote areas, such as oilfield sites and agriculture irrigation sites
- Background in electrical power distribution, metering, or control systems
- Familiarity with Alberta’s regulatory bodies (e.g., ASET, Measurement Canada)
- Valid Class 5 Alberta Driver’s License and clean driving record
- Strong attention to detail and time management
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work independently and in teams
- Valid First Aid and CPR certification; knowledge of Alberta OH&S and utility safety rules is an asset
- Valid H2S Alive Training
