What Makes This Role Great:

As Distributed Energy Resources Development Analyst, reporting to the President, Rodan DER, you will play a key role in advancing Rodan's Distributed Energy Resources (DER) projects by providing business analysis, market research, and support to investor relations, business development, and finance teams. You will be required to work at our Corporate HQ in Mississauga for a minimum of two days per week, in addition to attending and participating in workshops, projects, or team meetings. Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough business analysis to assess the feasibility and financial viability of DER projects.
  • Develop financial models, projections, and analyses to support decision-making processes.
  • Conduct market research to identify potential opportunities and target markets for DER projects.
  • Analyze market trends, regulatory frameworks, and competitor activities to inform strategic planning and business models.
  • Provide investment analysis, including reviewing information memorandums of potential acquisitions and conducting due diligence on potential investments.
  • Perform valuation analysis using methodologies such as discounted cash flow and comparable company analysis to estimate target value and potential synergies.
  • Support negotiation of acquisition deals by preparing data-driven insights, assisting in drafting term sheets and agreements, and leveraging due diligence findings to inform favorable terms.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams (finance, legal, engineering, etc.) and adhere to company M&A guidelines to ensure the acquisition process meets all regulatory, compliance, and approval requirements.
  • Assist in post-acquisition integration planning and monitoring to ensure smooth transitions and identify follow-up actions.
  • Respond to investor and lender due diligence requests and produce reports and analysis for stakeholders.
  • Provide sales support by preparing collateral, conducting prospect research, and assisting in the development of sales materials.
  • Contribute to the development of project proposals, presentations, and pitch decks.
  • Prepare reports and documentation for internal and external stakeholders, highlighting project progress and KPIs.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives and drive business growth.
  • Maintain clear and proactive communication with internal and external stakeholders.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • University degree in Business Administration or Finance (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and market trends.
  • Experience in valuation methodologies such as DCF and comparables.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), especially Excel and AI (Co-pilot).
  • Effective verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Experience or knowledge of energy markets, power systems, and advanced analytics is an asset.
