What Makes This Role Great:

As the Operator, Real Time Operations and Optimization, you will be on the front lines, managing all asset operations via SCADA to ensure successful and safe performance. You will also significantly grow your knowledge of the various Independent System Operator (ISO) electricity markets (like IESO, NYISO, AESO, PJM, MISO) and the compliance rules for asset operations. Key Responsibilities:

Main Point of Customer Contact for all DER Operations (Daily):
  • Communicating with customers on a weekly and daily basis, keeping them up to date on how their systems are operating (activations, issues with the assets).
Operator responsible for all SCADA direct control of assets (Daily):
  • Ensuring assets are always ready to operate 24/7.
  • Operating assets in accordance with SOP/manuals on a daily basis.
  • Resolving any issues that arise and taking appropriate action to remedy risk and ensure the problem is resolved.
  • General understanding of market programs for IESO / NYISO / AESO / PJM / MISO (market rules for compliance of asset operations).
  • Receiving information from previous shift and transferring to the next shift.
  • Filling report journals during and after the shift.
  • Passing regular training courses for dispatch staff.
Analysis (Daily):
  • Creating/reviewing summary reports internal (for Rodan own purposes) and external (for customers) on asset operations (daily/weekly).
Key Requirements:
 
  • Understanding of Power Systems and Electricity Grid an asset
  • Proficient in excel and other office products (MS Outlook, Word, Power Bi etc).
  • Candidates must be available to work any day from Monday through Sunday, between the hours of 9:45 AM and 10:15 PM.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Work Schedule
 
  • Shift Details: You will work 12-hour shifts from approximately 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM (candidates must be available to work between the hours of 9:45 AM and 10:15 PM ).
  • Hours Per Week: The schedule is based on 3 shifts per week, averaging 36 hours per week, and for the period from May till September 44-46 hours per week (additional shifts may be scheduled to meet operational demands during periods of peak business activity.)
  • Availability: Shifts can be scheduled any day from Monday through Sunday, including holidays (with an additional day off provided in lieu for working on a holiday).
Nice to have:
 
  • Experience working in the energy sector or a field related to energy/electricity
  • Electrical engineering degree or something similar
  • Understanding of how BESS /Generation / Power Systems operate
  • Previous experience using SCADA Systems (Supervisory Control and Data Analytics)
