What Makes This Role Great:
- As a Co‑op Software Developer (Facility Intelligence), you’ll work alongside experienced software development professionals to build, test, and support client facing SaaS applications used by real customers. You’ll contribute across the full software development lifecycle while working in an Agile team environment. This role provides exposure to building software that meets high standards for accuracy, reliability, and availability of energy data, helping you develop practical skills and prepare for future full‑time software engineering opportunities.
- Help build, enhance, and maintain SaaS software tools used to visualize facility information, manage distributed energy resources, support the integration of market programs with facility operations, and help minimize our customers energy spend.
- Contribute to the full software development lifecycle, including coding, testing, deployment, and ongoing support
- Work within an Agile development team, participating in sprint planning, stand‑ups, code reviews, and retrospectives
- Support testing and quality assurance efforts to ensure reliable, high‑quality software
- Assist with troubleshooting and issue resolution, including ad‑hoc client or internal support when needed
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related program
- Have completed 2 or more co‑op terms
- Experience contributing to software development projects, including building, testing, and maintaining applications
- Working knowledge of software development best practices, including version control, testing/QA, and clean code design
- Programming skills in the Facility Intelligence Technology:
- C#
- .NET Framework4.8, .NET 8-10
- RESTful APIs
- Entity Framework
- SQL Server
- Azure ecosystem
- Blazor/ Razor pages
- Familiarity with Agile development, including sprint planning, stand‑ups, and code reviews
- Strong problem‑solving, debugging, and collaboration skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non‑technical stakeholders
- Experience supporting AI‑driven solutions, with exposure to modern development tools such as GitHub Copilot.
Compensation & Term
- Hourly Rate: $30 - $38/hour
- Work Term: 4 months, with the opportunity for an extension
